Minister Eshwarappa's controversial statement:
Congress holding a national flag; Postponement of House
BENGALURU: The Speaker adjourned the session yesterday amid a growing controversy over the desecration of the national flag by Congress leaders during the assembly session.
As the legislative riots broke out after the lunch break, members of Congress remained in the House. In addition, the president objected to members of Congress holding the flag.
It is okay to use your flag protest, your political party has a great history, you should not use it for the purpose of national flag. The speaker opposed this move of Congress.
Opposition marshals were forced to come to the scene and control the members, as opposition members of the ruling party clashed with each other. The commotion continued for some time even after the House was adjourned.
Chief Minister Bommai said that a Rashtriya Swayamsevak should learn his dignity before being respected.
Vice President Kagheri adjourns the House of Commons as non-Congress members' rally continues. Opposition members have come forward to take a decision on the statement that Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa had said that he would fly to the Red Fort. The Congress members demanded that the government resign from Eshwarappa and register a case of sedition for insulting the flag.
Responding to this, Law Minister JC Madhuswamy said that those who are accusing the minister should be given complete information without knowing the primary level. Further, Eshwarappa insisted that the full text of the statement would have been understood had he not made an anti-national statement.
