NEW DELHI: As announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently, vaccination of 15 to 18 year olds has started for children in the age group of 15-18 years in the fight against Covid-19 on the Co-Vin portal on Saturday. .
He tweeted on social networking site Twitter, "If the children are safe then the future of the country is secure!" Registration for the COVID19 Vaccine is being opened for 15 to 18 year olds on New Year's Eve. He said that he would appeal to the people to register eligible children for the vaccine.
On 25 December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that 15-18 year olds would be vaccinated.
In view of the announcement of the Prime Minister, the work of immunization of children will start from Monday. Also, work on the third dose vaccine will start from January 10, the health ministry said.
The central government will share the supply schedule of Covaxin with all states and union territories in the next few days. The health ministry said that potential beneficiaries can register with Co-Win from January 1, 2022 or walk-in registration starting January 3 after vaccination.
