Action against doctors spreading false information about Kovid:
State government's warning
Bengaluru: Amidst
allegations of misinformation regarding Kovid-19, the state government on
Tuesday issued a warning to some doctors.
The Commissioner of Health
and Family Affairs said in a statement that some professional doctors are
giving incomplete, incorrect and baseless information about COVID-19.
Such misinformation may
create confusion among the public in the current COVID scenario in the state.
The publication said it would encourage people not to follow the guidelines
issued by health and revenue officials
Medical professionals should
take extra care and caution while communicating with the public regarding
Corona. The Commissioner, Department of Health and Family Welfare has suggested
that government guidelines, circulars and decrees should be referred to
thoroughly before appearing on any media or social platform.
"Any false information
or factual data on COVID-19 shared in media or social media is deemed to be an
offense and action is being taken in accordance with Section 54(k) of the
Disaster Management Act, Section 54 of the Karnataka Infectious Diseases Act.
Act, 2005," warned the Commissioner.
