Bengaluru: Health Minister Dr Sudhakar shared on his Twitter
account that 2,479 cases of Kovid-19 infection were reported in the state in a
single day. Bangalore alone reported 2,053 Covid-19 cases, while the positivity
rate rose to 2.59 per cent, four deaths from Covid-19 and the death toll rose
to 38,355. Out of the total 288 people discharged today, 2961410 have been
discharged so far. The number of active cases of infection increased to 13532.
On July 29 last year, the number of Kovid-19 cases crossed the 2,000-mark. As
per the data provided by the Health Minister today, no new Omicron infection
has been found in the state. With the spread of Kovid-19 infection across the
state, several stringent restrictions may be imposed. The Health Minister and
senior cabinet colleagues led by CM Bommai will hold a meeting with the members
of the Covid-19 Technical Advisory Committee to decide on measures to be taken
to prevent infection in the growing areas of Corona, including Bengaluru. For
the prevention of infection, the meeting will be held at Bengaluru airports,
micro-containment zones, schools and other areas.
Establishment of check posts in
border areas for Kovid control: Chief Minister Bommai
Kalaburagi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that in
view of the increase in Kovid-19 cases in Maharashtra and Kerala, check posts
will be opened in the border areas of neighboring states. He told reporters
that the responsibility of such check posts rests with the concerned police stations.
The first and second wave of infection has come in our state when there are 19
cases of Kovid-19 in neighboring states. Therefore, attention will be given to
the border areas. Responding to a question about laxity in border areas, the CM
said that check posts would be set up in village-to-village areas, where police
personnel would be deployed and their responsibilities would be directed to be
handled by the respective police stations. The Chief Minister said that he is
waiting for expert advice on lockdown, semi-lockdown or weekend curfew, which
will have a negative impact on the economy. Economic activities need to be

BENGALURU: The state government has announced a new roadmap
to implement stringent rules for the next two weeks from 10 pm last night as
the number of omicron and corona cases continues to rise. These rules will come
into effect from January 6. There will be a weekend curfew and a night curfew
from 10 am to 5 pm for the next two weeks. Revenue Minister R Ashok said that
the state will be under lockdown from 10 am to 5 pm on Monday, except for
essential service. Schools and colleges have been closed in Bangalore for
almost two weeks. But only class 10th, 11th and 12th, medical and paramedical
colleges will be there, the health minister said. K Sudhakar said. * Theaters,
bars and restaurants, pubs, clubs and hotels only fill 50 percent. * Outdoor
weddings for up to 200 people. Indoor weddings only allow 100 people. * Those
coming from Goa, Maharashtra and Kerala will have to bring RTPCR negative

State government mandated
formation of task force for control of Kovid-19
BENGALURU: The state government has ordered the formation of
a task force to control the spread of Kovid-19 infection and omicron infection.
Government Chief Secretary PK Shivakumar said that the orders issued for
supervision, management and coordination of Kovid surveillance have been
modified and a draft task force has been prepared with immediate effect.
Ravikumar said. The Kovid-19 War Room has jurisdiction over the entire state,
