Sultanpura: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Pranavanchal Expressway on November 16, and has made a fierce battle against the opposition in the wake of the election.

During the previous governments, the main eastern part of the state was reduced to mafiawad and poverty. But now the BJP government is writing a new version of development, ”Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed by Governor Anandiben Patel and CM Yogi Adityanath, who arrived at the highway airstrip aboard the IAF C-130 Hercules. Modi then inaugurated the 341km pre-emptive expressway.

Addressing a public meeting in Sultanpura after the inauguration, he said the development of the former chief ministers was confined to the areas of their home and property. However, under the present administration, the development benefits of the western Uttar Pradesh are getting to the eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Modi said the Shutpath Expressway would serve as a lifeline for the eastern Uttar Pradesh region and would contribute to the economic development of the region. The 3.2 km airstrip was built to facilitate emergency landings of fighter aircraft.

The 341 km expressway connects the state capital of Lucknow with Ghazipur. The project was built at a cost of Rs 22.500 crore
