Three Agriculture Amendment Acts Back
NEW DELHI: The central government has finally made a major decision to withdraw the three new Farmers Act, which was opposed by farmers in many states across the country, who were fighting on the Delhi border.

The legislature has announced that it will withdraw the bill during the winter session of parliament starting later this month. The goal of the three agrarian laws is to empower farmers, especially small farmers. Since 2014, the agriculture budget in our government has increased five-fold and we have spent Rs 1.25 lakh crores annually on agriculture and farmers. In my five decades of public life, I have been very close to the difficulties and challenges of farmers. The Central Government passed the three Agriculture Amendment Act in Parliament a year ago in September last year.

Three amendment bills: Central Government Farmers 'Product Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, Farmers' (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act, 2020; And the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020, which was tabled in Parliament last September. But farmers in parts of Punjab, including Haryana, have protested and protested at the Delhi border. The central government was trying to persuade the farmers that the amendment bill would be very useful to ensure minimum support prices for farmers' crops.
