 Heavy Rain in Andhra Pradesh: Death toll rises to 23 and 17 missing

Anantapur: The death toll from the floods in Andhra Pradesh, which was hit by heavy rains, has risen to 23 and 17 have been lost. Heavy rains and floods in Anantapur, Tirupati, Chittoor have continued. The Rayalaseema region is highly damaged. Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts of the state have been damaged. Since Thursday, the rain has been pouring in uninterrupted and the river Cheyuru is flooded. The Annamaya irrigation project was also damaged by the flood. Kadapa Airport has been closed till November 25 as a precautionary measure.

Flooding continues in Tirupati and the ghat roads linking Tirumala with caution are closed. The Tirumala walkway has been blocked and the pilgrims' access has been temporarily banned. Due to the rains, the river Swarnamukhi on the outskirts of Tirupati has been flooded with water and reservoirs overflowing. Many have been reported flooding, with many being washed away by water. It is also said that cattle have been flooded.
